"We are looking for someone to help develop this service and help us
in the challenges ahead. The post is graded at Band 5, on a two year
contract. This is a busy clinical post, involving telephone triage
(typically 1 day a week), and offering brief clinical work in line with
NICE guidance, primarily guided self help, on the phone or face to face.
It can involve co-facilitating a group or workshop, and administration
including data entry. It will involve triage facilitation and
supervision of triagers. The clinical work will include the more complex
clients seen at the step 2 level. Regular individual supervision from
an experienced Clinical/Counselling Psychologist/High Intensity CBT
therapist would be provided.
The working week will be 9-5 for 4 days a week, with an evening once a week, working from 12- 8 pm on that day.
They will be based in GP surgeries, and also have time at one of the
team bases. These are currently in Lambeth in the South of the borough
at Palace Road, Streatham Hill, SW2 3DY, in 1 A Dalbury House,
Edmondsbury estate, Ferndale Road, Brixton SW9 8AP (our main base, 5
mins from Brixton tube) and in the North at St Thomas Hospital,
Waterloo, SE1 7EH.
The post is based primary care. The clinical work will be mainly with
depression and anxiety disorders. You will need to be able to work
flexibly, with sessions in different locations as required.
The post holders will be committed to working as part of a team and
collaboratively with GPs, other Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners,
High Intensity CBT Therapists and neighbourhood counselling teams. This
is a busy clinical post, involving working to agreed targets for
clinical activity.
Lambeth is a borough of high social and psychological needs with
considerable cultural diversity. We would particularly welcome
candidates who are fluent in Portuguese (we have a large Brazilian and
Portuguese community) or in Spanish, (for our Latin American clients),
or who represent our black and ethnic minority population. The service
has over 40 staff, with Clinical and Counselling Psychologists, High
Intensity CBT Therapists, and Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners and
is led by a Consultant Clinical Psychologist.
